I’ve dug the garden rows

I’ve dug the garden rows. The seeds are in.
I wonder—Who will come to praise the beans?
I’ll sing loudly—And who will bring their melodies?
Besides the hummingbirds and bees, I mean.

  1. I like a poem that looks down to lift us up. An old-fashioned humble haiku last line Issa would have enjoyed.

  2. Tweeted by M.C. “This is delightful, Kevin – a poem that grows out of the soil and opens into our relationship with nature and the healing properties of sound. I shall think of this poem when I get round to sowing my spring seeds. And I’m sure your beans will grow beautifully!” Thank you.
